 We really want your time at the NYMC to be thoroughly refreshing for you, so we have chosen a location that will be as enjoyable for you as possible.
The Gold Coast is a beautiful city that attracts people from around the world for its lovely beaches and gorgeous sunshine. In all of Spring it normally receives 10 days of rain and 25 degrees plus as maximum temperatures. On a cold night, the temperature might drop below 15 degrees.
We want you to enjoy your stay so much that you will feel like you have had a holiday. Actually, we encourage you to bring your friends or families with you and stay for a few days break after the NYMC finishes. Take pleasure in somere freshment!
Surfers Paradise is famous for its enormous range of accommodation options. Feel free to book your own rooms wherever you want.
Directly across the road from NYMC central are three hotels – Legends, Q1 and Watermark.
Corporate Travel Management have offered to help NYMC delegates obtain cheaper prices for flights, accommodation (including Hotel Watermark) and ground transport. Click on their NYMC link and see what they have to offer. If they can get you cheaper rooms and flights - use them! If not, just book yourself.
Also, the Hotel Watermark will offer delegates corporate rates for accommodation, subject to availability.
We do advise that delegates book their flights and accommodation in advance to avoid missing out on rooms in the best locations and cheapest prices. (It will be held in the first week of the Queensland school holidays)

If you are going to be further than walking distance away, please ensure that you allow time each day to drive in to the event and find suitable parking. Unfortunately on-site parking is limited, so you may need to pay for car-parking for the day a block or two away.
Once you have registered for the NYMC, your next task is to make arrangements for flights, accommodation and ground transfers from the airport. You will find that there is enough accommodation nearby if you book early that you should be able to walk everywhere, once you are at NYMC central in Surfers Paradise.
Before you book your flights and accommodation, consider whether you would like to stay for a few days longer for a holiday. We don't make any money from you staying longer, but refreshment is one of our big three goals, and we want you to have a worthwhile break while you are here. A refreshed youth worker is a good youth worker! (Well, not always, but you know what I mean)

Near the NYMC you will find a plethora of eating options. 2-3 minutes away is a huge variety of shops surrounding Cavill Avenue: supermarkets, ethnic or fast food – it is all there. If you would rather not walk that far, you can choose from pancakes, Indian, a coffee shop or multiple other restaurants and eateries.
The National Youth Ministry Convention will be held at two venues: Surf City Church and Hotel Watermark, in the suburb of Surfers Paradise at the heart of the Gold Coast. Both are on the Gold Coast Highway. They are on opposite sides of Clifford Street, one block from the beach. See this map to see where the Watermark is. Surf City is directly above Watermark on the map.
Elective seminars will be held at both venues, while the youth ministry expo and all general sessions will be held in the massive auditorium of Surf City.
These venues are a few minutes walk south of the famous Cavill Avenue.
The nearest airport is Gold Coast airport, which is 20km south and should take no more than 20 minutes. If you prefer the Brisbane airport, it is only 80 km away, and should be no more than 1 hour 20 minutes by car.
You will find that the Gold Coast has a good public transport system that will help you to get to Surfers Paradise fairly easily.
