During September 25th - 28th 2007 the National Youth Ministry Convention took place on the Gold Coast, Australia. A host of International and Australian speakers provided four days of professional development and refreshment for youth ministry practitioners.
This inaugural event is aimed at Christians who work with youth and young adults in a variety of contexts, including universities, Churches, schools, Government agencies, community bodies and local neighbourhoods.
Youth Vision Queensland has initiated this conference in conjunction with a large number of partners and sponsors.
Our hope is that each person who attended the convention will benefit from a variety of ways. Although there are a variety of reasons to run the event, the vast majority of our efforts and strategy will be aimed towards three broad goals:
- Training and professional development
- Connecting and networking
- Refreshment and encouragement
It is our conviction that ministry to and with youth and young adults is the most strategic investment for the Church today. Our prayer is that this convention is a contribution to such an investment.
