Tim Hawkins Portrait

Tim Hawkins is one of the most experienced Christian Youth pastors in Australia. He has now been a full-time youth pastor in a local church for almost 30 years. He is currently the Youth Pastor Emeritus at St. Pauls Anglican Church, Castle Hill, in Sydney Australia where he has been for almost 20 years.

Tim's passion is to see high-schoolers become fervent disciples of Jesus. He planted and built the "Crossfire" youth ministry at Castle Hill, which is one of the most fruitful local church youth ministries in Australia. Every one of Tim's resources has grown out of his local church's youth ministry. Tim writes this material and speaks powerful messages to meet real needs. His books and resources are revolutionising youth ministry around the world, and are now being used as training manuals in many bible colleges.

Tim is a great believer in what Christian high-schoolers can accomplish in their own ministry at their own high school. Tim regularly speaks at local churches, youth ministries and conferences to encourage biblical models of youth ministry. But much of his focus remains in his own church - both to the congregation at large as well as to the youth.

Tim is madly in love with his wife, Karen, and is the proud dad of his daughter, Carly, and his son, Joshua. He has coached his son's football team for 12 seasons, and he enjoys eating chocolate and watching mindless TV.

Professional Development Seminar - Disciples Who Will Last

An  intensive on the actual process of making disciples in local church youth ministry.

Thursday 12:30-2, 2:30-4, 4:30-6, Fri 8:30-10

How to lead a small group

Small groups are the cornerstone of any good ministry.  For many of us, our youth ministry IS a small group.  But how do you actually lead such a group?  How do you facilitate effective discussion and guide youth towards truth without them all falling asleep?

Sunday 10:30am-11:45am

How to train students to win their friends

Our job as youth leaders is NOT to evangelise every young person in our neighbourhood.  Even Jesus seemed to spend more of his time training his disciples than with the “lost.”  So, how do we actually motivating, equipping and unleashing our students to share their faith with their friends?

Friday 2:00pm-3:15pm

Working with parents

Parents can be the bane of youth ministry, and dealing with complaints about them or from them can take up a lot of your time.  However, they are also the number one influence on the lives of young people, far outweighing the influence of our own ministires.  How can we actually work positively with parents?  Can we help them with their role as parents?  Can they help us as youth leaders?
