Mark Sayers electives

The history of cool
(Saturday 8:30am-9:45am)

The concept of cool is the building block upon which the whole of contemporary youth culture is built upon. Today the desire of young people from Iceland to Argentina to be cool powers the global economy. So what is behind all of this? Are Christians meant to be cool? How on earth do you even define cool? What is it to be a follower of God in a world of cool?

Ministry in a post Christian Culture
(Saturday 4:00pm-5:15pm)

How do you do ministry in a world in which everyone thinks at best you are Ned Flanders and at worst a bigoted, Fundamentalist nutcase? In this seminar Mark will make you look at your ministry in a different way, and give clues how you can not only survive but thrive in the post –christian culture.

Contemporary Youth Culture
(Sunday 10:30am-11:45am)

In this seminar, Mark will give you a basic overview of the terrain of contemporary youth culture. Plus a whole new bag of terms and concepts that will add to your understanding of young people and the strange planet that they inhabit. A great seminar for anyone from Newbies to Youth Ministry Veterans.
