(Saturday 2:00pm-3:15pm)
This session includes ideas on helping teens to open up, getting teens re-engaged with life activities, understanding cycles of depression and anxiety, facilitating communication with troubled teens, and working alongside and in partnership with professional counselors.
(Saturday 4:00pm-5:15pm)
This looks at the key developmental (eg cognitive and emotional functioning) differences between teenagers and adults, as well as the key generational differences between teens in 2009 and teens in 1989. With these two sets of differences in mind, this elective then covers how best to communicate with young people.
