Focus is on the growth of a person from a state of need to a state of reality and mystery. This focuses not only on our work with others but our own journey with Christ. This includes facing and owning doubt, cynicism, enjoying the confusion and greyness surrounding many issues. How does this affects our mission, discipleship and social action in todays world?
This focuses on a person’s need to succeed in their life and how we can develop and grow this so the person sees their walk with Christ as successful. How can behaviour be changed in difficult cases? It also looks at how some can see self destructive and antisocial behaviours as sucessful and positive and how we can turn this around .
Drawing on Darryl’s experience living in a home for boys for 16 years, this elective explores the various dynamics of working with youth who are not quite tame, middle class Church attenders.
This focuses on the needs we have that must be met to be whole and healthy, and looks at what our role is in these needs. We will focus on both positive and negative responses to meeting these needs and how the church can help.
