3 Story - A new approach to mission where the message reflects the messiah

3 Story - is a simple and natural way we can all share our faith with our friends and families without risking relationships or potentially causing hurt and frustration. It’s often our methods and not the Gospel that offends people and they can turn away and resent Christians. 3 Story helps us be sensitive and respectful as we share about Jesus, enabling our friends to respond and enjoy the experience. Come and discover a process that could open up some wonderful conversations that change your life forever.
3 Story Works Today Because;
- It’s stories, more than steps.
3 Story is about bringing three stories together in a natural way. It is not taking people through a sequence of pre-determined steps but through parts of a story. (Acts 17:27-28)
- It’s honesty, more than perfection.
3 Story asks the believer to be honest with their life, not perfect. When we pretend to be perfect, the only person we fool is ourselves. (Phil. 3:9, 12 – 13)
- It’s others, more than me.
3 Story is really about allowing people to be themselves and listening to their story. It’s about me getting to know them. (James1:9)
- It’s questions, more than answers.
3 Story is more about asking questions than giving answers. Most Christians are giving answers to questions that non-Christians are not asking.
- It’s listening, more than telling.
3 Story starts out with the believer listening to the non-believer, not preaching to them. It’s built on the assumption that people listen to people who listen, and the fact that Jesus would want us to listen to people.
- It’s hope, more than judgment.
3 Story is primarily about me sharing my hope rather than me judging others’ lifestyle, words or choices. (I Peter 3:15 – 16)
- It’s Holy Spirit, more than program.
3 Story is being led by God’s Spirit in our conversations and relationships. It’s not working through some tips and techniques to manipulate the gospel into a conversation at the earliest time, but it is about being led by God’s Spirit to bring those parts of Jesus’ story that He wants at that given moment. (Romans 8:18 – 21, 26 – 27)
- It’s circular, more than linear.
3 Story allows people to discover that part of Jesus’ story that is most relevant to them at that moment. Jesus’ story doesn’t come to everybody in the same order or with the same words. (John 4: 1- 30.)
- It’s love more than knowledge.
Not only in a postmodern world, but also from a biblical world-view, love wins peoples hearts; information and knowledge do not win hearts. Since hearts are what God is after, we must major in love and allow knowledge to flow out of love. (I Corinthains13: 1 – 2, 13)
- It’s contributing, more than controlling.
3 Story is not about controlling conversations, but allowing conversations to be free to go where they are going and to bring Jesus into those topics or discussions. (I Peter 3:16)
