From Anglican Private School beginnings, youth work with the YMCA and then to a degree in Social Work, Chris began his working career with a passion for the gospel and a desire to change the world. His favourite pastimes include Rugby Union, fishing, surfing, music and family and his favourite food is eating the fish he or anyone else has caught.
Married to Linda for 32 years, Chris has three boys; Tim, Peter and James between 28 and 16 years old. He says the boys get all their talent, brains and creativity from their mother.
Chris has worked with Youth for Christ for the past 25 years combining his social work skills with a desire to see young people discover Jesus for themselves. He developed the now national AusLife ministry to high schools and consults and trains in evangelism and youth ministry within and outside YFC both nationally and internationally. He currently sits on the YFC International Training team consulting, writing materials and developing training needs for YFC across the world.
Chris also values networking, collaboration and partnerships with other organisations. He sits on the National Council for Australia Evangelical Alliance as their Youth Commissioner and Vice Chair, also the Board of Forge NSW. He is involved in creating and maintaining peak youth work networks across Australia. He’s an optimist who enjoys life and the relationships it brings.
