Professional Development Seminar (PDS)

The Professional Development Seminar on the Tuesday is 6 hours where attendees focus on one topic all day long.  They are the best opportunity to explore an issue in greater depth.  Josh Griffin will look at what is involved in the first two years of being in youth ministry.  Ben Thurley and Ross Farley will run an interactive day of simulation games, to demonstrate how such games can powerfully teach young people important truths.  Chris Harding’s 3-story evangelism is an absolutely excellent approach to an often abused or neglected art – sharing our faith.  Christian comedian Mark Gladman will try to work himself out of a job by teaching us how to use humour ourselves (rather than just thinking we’re funny).  Finally, Robyn Wrigley-Carr won’t be teaching per se (at least not until the Wednesday), but instead will guide delegates through their own spiritual retreat, as a wonderful way to begin what hopefully will be a week or refreshment and recharging for all.

Our hope is that most people will attend all four full days, from Tuesday to Friday.  However, for those that can only come for 3 days, the Tuesday has been separated as an optional “Professional Development Seminar” with a separate registration cost, although both can be paid for together.

The PDS costs $79, as does any other singly day, but if you book the Tuesday PDS with your overall registration the cost is only $49.
